Area Officers
- Responsible for general coordination of Area activities.
- Organizes Assemblies and Committee Meetings.
- Is the person to whom agenda items for Committee Meetings and Assemblies should be submitted -- preferably at least six weeks prior to the event.
- Assists the Area Chairperson and fills in for him or her as necessary.
- Serves as primary liaison with hotel staff at Committee Meetings and Assemblies.
- Represents Area 51 at the annual General Service Conference (U.S./Canada) and at other service events held outside North Carolina.
- Travels throughout the Area to discuss Conference agenda items and to report on the actions of the Conference.
- Assists the Delegate and fills in for him or her as necessary.
- Serves as liaison with Spanish-speaking groups, and ensures that translation equipment and interpreters are available for Area events.
- Prepares and mails notices and minutes of Committee Meetings and Assemblies.
- Maintains files of current Area documents.
- Pays Area bills.
- Receives, banks, and acknowleges contributions to Area 51.
Note: In keeping with our Tradition of self-support, Area 51 accepts contributions only from A.A. sources -- such as groups, districts, and individual A.A. members. Contributions from individual members cannot exceed $3,000 per year and are NOT tax-deductible.

- Maintains contact information for groups, districts, and trusted servants of Area 51.
- Forwards changes and new group registrations to the General Service Office in New York.
